For researchers
Since the charity was founded in 1968, research has always been at its core. Our latest strategy has research as one of the key strategic pillars. We are passionate about driving research that improves the lives of people living with coeliac disease today to ensure that no life is limited by coeliac disease. Ultimately, we are driving towards a cure, so that one day there will be a world without coeliac disease.
We are dedicated to funding and supporting research both in the UK and internationally. We are also committed to nurturing new generations of researchers to contribute to the progression and innovation of coeliac disease research.
Funding opportunities
Since 2005 we have committed more than £3.5 million towards research related to coeliac disease. We fund research that has the potential to make a positive impact on those who are affected by coeliac disease.

Research conferences
Our annual research conference is a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals and researchers in the field to come together to hear the latest research so that patients with coeliac disease can receive the best care possible. It is also an opportunity for UK and international experts to connect, collaborate and drive forward improvements in care and research for people with coeliac disease.
Support for researchers
We aim to support research related to coeliac disease beyond the funding. We want to foster collaborations both nationally and internationally, and across conditions and disciplines. Communication and dissemination of evidence and crucial findings is of great importance to us. And we promote and ensure that people affected by coeliac disease have their say in research to ensure it is relevant and impactful.
There are a number of ways in which we can support researchers including dissemination, recruitment, patient and public involvement and engagement, advice, funding, training and more.
